India blocks blogs !!!

What else can i say other than ... WOW ... and all i can do is laugh at it .... very sarcastically ... well done Indian govt. .... the "worlds largest DEMOCRACY"

they claim the terrorists used blogs to communicate and this helped in the bombay blasts last week .... this excuse sounds kind of lame coz i dont think any terrorist [however dumb he might be] would have his plans out in the open in the blogosphere ....

and although this ban is only a temporary move [ im guessing it is ] ... i think its pretty boneheaded .... its like cutting off telephones all over India coz the terrorists use phones to talk to each other !!!

i think there is more to it ... im sure bloggers have always been a pain for the indian govt. .... where free speech is not so free .... anyone who openly criticizes the govt. in India are usually dealt with by a handful of rowdies [ the politician's henchmen] ... so much for rights to free speech and DEMOCRACY ....
